Guidance Available – How to seek out assistance

Wesleyan University's residential meal plan program does not permit for individualized menus; however, we will work to reasonably accommodate each student and will handle on a case-by-case basis. Our board meal plans have intentionally been developed to offer flexibility and variety to reasonably meet most dietary needs and preferences.

Our process:

There is a professional team of individuals who have been trained to handle food allergy accommodation requests.

  • For incoming students, start by including allergy or dietary condition information on the Health Form packet. Please contact Davison Health Center staff at healthforms@wesleyan.edu if you have any questions.
  • Contact Dining Services at dining@wesleyan.edu to meet with key staff.
  • Register with the Office of Accessibility Rescources which entails the following steps:
    • Submit a Notification Form to alert the Office of Accessibility Rescources that you will be requesting accommodations.
    • Have your physician complete a provider form outlining your diagnosed disability and impact on major life functions and forward this to the Office of Accessibility Rescources

Resource contacts:

email dining@wesleyan.edu with any questions you have at anytime. Responses will be received within 24 hours and are reviewed by:

Michelle Myers-Brown, Ph.D. Director, University Auxiliary Services, campus dining liaison

Michael Strumpf, Bon Appétit Resident District Manager

Thomas McLarney, M.D. Campus Physician

Daniele Rossner, MS RD Bon Appétit Dietitian

Bon Appétit Managers are also always on the floor of the Marketplace and Summerfields dining facilities and are available to answer questions during all meal periods. Meeting in advance with the above listed team will also allow individuals the chance  to meet the individuals with whom they will be working with to safely navigate the Bon Appetit dining areas. If any of these individuals are unavailable to answer your questions, please use good personal judgement; make food selections on the side of caution; and if there is ever a question, please avoid consuming.
